If you are a wedding/event guest

We love sharing this magical place with our guests. Visiting the Woods you will be amazed that such a place exists within a fairly busy urban area. As soon as you come into the Woods we are pretty sure you will feel like you are in an oasis of calm and tranquillity.

Nestled on the Eastern side of Hayling Island on the edge of Chichester Harbour visitors to Tournerbury are able to see views of Chichester Harbour. On a clear day you can see the spire of Chichester Cathedral from the Harbour Lawn and the rolling hills of the South Downs and Goodwood estate in the in the distance. Your views will include boats sailing around the Harbour as well as the various sailing clubs and boating related businesses that also share the Harbours edge. Wildlife abounds in the form of birds and woodland creatures including deer, rabbits, woodpeckers, kingfishers and wood pigeons to name a few.

What to wear at a Tournerbury wedding

Anything goes – your style is your own of course!

We’d just like to remind you that this is a woodland setting and as such you may want to be mindful of this when considering your footwear. The lawns will always be mowed and grass short, but we can’t control the weather and sometimes the ground might be softer under foot. Flooring in the marquee is either solid parquet on the dance floor or carpet overlaying underlay and a fairly firm base, but it may be slightly uneven in places – generally it is all fairly level. We have two thresholds at our door entry/exit points but these are as flat as possible and passable by those in wheelchairs. Flooring on the Deck is solid wood and even.

If you have hired Woods Cottage as part of your visit, please see our access statement here.
